Kingston Mayor Joins Albany Rally Promoting Hochul's Proposed SEQRA Reforms
"Mayor Steve Noble appeared at a rally at the State Capitol on Tuesday promoting Gov. Kathy Hochul's proposed "Let Them Build Act" which would streamline State Environmental Quality Review Act regulations for certain housing projects.
"I'm happy to stand here today with so many of my colleagues from across the Hudson Valley — from elected officials, nonprofit partners, and housing developers, who have gathered today to support the Governor's proposed SEQRA reform," Mayor Noble said. "For the first time, we are seeing SEQRA reform that doesn't compromise environmental protections. As an elected official, I know firsthand how difficult it is to build housing. Today, we stand proudly in support of changes to the SEQRA process for housing developments for projects of 100 units or fewer. The Governor's plan is clear and concise and will be easy for us to implement on a local level."
